Get your Jacquie’s Gourmet food fix – at either place – quickly, economically, and easily. Your stomach will love you for it!

Oh, let us count all the delicious ways you and your besties are going to love celebrating the season of friendship at Jacquie’s Café:

You remember that TV show Cheers, right? You know, the “place where everyone knows your name”? Well, that’s just how it is at here at Jacquie’s Café, especially when Leah is your server.

“Leah is incredible, remembering all our regular customer’s names, every time,” smiles Jacquie Bols, owner/manager. “She really cares about making people feel at home and it shows.”

Leah also happens to be a darn good server. Having worked at Jacquie’s Café some 5 years now, she knows the menu inside and out.

According to Leah, “We have chicken salad that we call Chicken Crack, because it’s so highly addictive. Also our biscuits and gravy are to die for. When it comes to Jacquie’s Café, the secret of our success is our chefs. Gordon and Omar are the best. They work very hard in the back preparing our food. My job is easier. All I have to do is bring it to the table!”

“I truly enjoy working at Jacquie’s because I have the best guests. Many have shared their family and friends with me. This place is like home for so many repeat customers. No matter how busy I am when they walk in, they know that I am going to take good care of them.”

“And if I’m not at work when they come in, they worry about me. I have had several guests who call or text to make sure I’m okay. When I was out in January for planned surgery, I even received flowers at home from one of my favorite couples, plus several calls from others. How wonderful is that?”

“Truly, I couldn’t ask for a better staff or clientele. Working at Jacquie’s has truly been a blessing for me.”

At Jacquie’s Café, having Leah has been a lovely blessing for us as well. She’s definitely a customer favorite who loves her work. And that is what we’re all about.

Thank you for all you do, Leah!

Is there anything better than dining alfresco at Jacquie’s Café?

Located just north of 96th on the west side of Michigan Road, Jacquie’s Café is a fantastic way to experience the high gourmet quality of Jacquie’s Gourmet dining – just about any time you want it.

You can absolutely enjoy the best breakfast or lunch has to offer, inside or outside, Monday through Saturday, 8 AM through 2 PM.

When the weather cooperates, head for the outside tables, sunglasses on to soak up the warmth of the sun, or tuck under an umbrella.

Nothing better than beginning your breakfast right -- with a cup or two of organic locally roasted fresh coffee. Then, depending on your mood, you might want to tuck into the Omelet of the Day or try the Fried Egg Sandwich. If you prefer a classic, then you cannot go wrong with Jacquie’s traditional Eggs Benedict.

Those in the know consider breakfast the ideal time to splurge on calories (right?), so take a long metaphoric walk on the beach with the Croissant French Toast by your side -- or the slightly tart Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Both are to die for!

There is also some darn good Corned Beef Hash and nicely spicy Breakfast Burritos. Something for every taste – all of it good and hearty enough for a more muscular appetite.

If you are one to linger over a grand luncheon spread with BFFs, Jacquie’s Café devotes an entire side of the menu to lunch choices. Served from 11 AM – 2 PM, lunch is full of favorites with nice added touches.

Take the Signature Chicken Salad, for instance. The addition of dried cranberries, tarragon and pecans to tender Indiana-raised chicken makes this classic a sought-after favorite. (You can bet the organic chickens were genuinely raised free-range, and never fed anything touched by pesticides or additives of any kind.)

Winter Apple Salad is another much-requested favorite. The spirited mix includes Indiana apples, mixed greens, goat cheese, Indiana bacon, and sugared walnuts tossed together with champagne vinaigrette.

If your idea of a lunch means using two hands on either side of hearty slices of artisan bread, Jacquie’s has you covered with sourdough, wheat, rye, focaccia, or soft white. Gluten-free? Covered. Health conscious? Consider asking for the tomato wrap.

Sure, you could order the BLT with fresh mozzarella and avocados. But you also might well be tempted by the Smoked Turkey, Brie and Apple sandwich. There’s also a yummy Curried Chicken Salad sandwich and a lovely Grilled Corned Beef for heavier appetites.

No matter what you order, don’t forget to ask about the fresh homemade Soup of the Day. Add it to any salad of sandwich to up your game.

Before we close, we've got to mention Jacquie's side dishes! Better than French Fries, Jacquie’s offers Pommes Frites with Truffle Oil, served with freshly grated Romano cheese and fresh parsley. (Be still our fluttering hearts!)

So… you can see why we so dearly love Jacquie’s Café. It’s the best of Jacquie’s fabulous, famous food – but you don’t have to wait for a catered event to enjoy it.

See you outside – alfresco -- later this month!

If you feel as many do, planning a Valentine’s Day outing this year is a downer. Not only do we need to concern ourselves with facemasks and social distancing, but there’s the usual grind of price-fixed meals and getting a reservation at the right place at the right time.

Generally, we leave a little disappointed with the service or the food, or both.

May we recommend a different approach this year?

A safe, candle-lit gourmet dinner at home, on the night of your choice? With no waiting, no up-charging, no limited menu, and no worries about safety. You'll find carry out from Jacquie's Gourmet Cafe is a great option.

Not only will your meal be amazing, but you will also be supporting Indiana farmers. Everything from the veggies to the entree is guaranteed fresh, locally-grown or sourced, with no chemical additives. So while candles and dinner attire are completely up to you, why not make the Jacquie’s Gourmet To-Go menu your Valentine Dinner for two?

Order the hors d’oeuvres you both like, then add some savory winter beef soup. And some lovely French bread. (It’s delicious.) Or order the chacuterie box for two. Very romantic. Just add wine.

She can have her favorite entrée and you can have yours. There are eleven individual entrees to chose from, so you can’t really miss. Plus you each have a choice of two favorite sides. (Yes, you can make one of them an exceptional salad).

What about dessert? Well how does bourbon pecan flan deep dish pie sound? Or our multi-layer home made chocolate cake? Heck, since you are ordering in, you can take your time with the dessert, enjoying it hours later if you want. No one will rush you from your table.

How do you get all this done? First, check out our website (https://order.ehungry.com/jacquies/order/home-style-cooked-meals) and decide what you want, and when.

Orders placed before noon will be ready for pick up by 4:30 pm. Or if you really prefer delivery, we can do that too, anytime from 7 am in the morning through 6PM.

We got you and your Valentine covered this year – in every way that counts.

Here’s how to begin your culinary journey:

It’s been a tough year. Time to celebrate the end of 2020 – with gusto, delightful flavor, and good taste. We would be happy to help!

If Jacquie’s Café (9840 N. Michigan Road) isn’t on your radar, it absolutely should be. Especially when it comes to holiday desserts.

This year, it is a whole lot safer to order specially made desserts for friends, family and coworkers rather than making them your self. Not only that, but Jacquie’s made-from-scratch cookies, pies, pastries and cakes are "to die for!” – and much requested.

So – take a gander at our holiday offerings online and place your pick up order for the hard-to-buy-for friends, family and co-workers on your holiday list.

Here are some of Jacquie’s fan favorite desserts:

Each of these can be ordered by the slice or (by special order) for the whole pie or cake. Don’t want to order the whole enchilada?

Order a box or two of your family’s favorites to serve – or give -- during Hanukkah, Christmas eve or Christmas morning:

Getting a box of Jacquie’s sweet treats makes a statement in addition to being a very sweet and thoughtful giftespecially this year.

Will you be cooking an entire sit down Thanksgiving dinner for extended family this year?

According to the folks at Butterball (who know these things), many families are opting for smaller get-togethers this year due to COVID-19 concerns. So as you can imagine, turkey sizes are trending down along with gathering sizes.

Not surprisingly, fewer families are planning to eat Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant this year, too. In fact, Thanksgiving day reservations at restaurants are down a whopping 35%.

That said, safe, order-in-advance carry-out Thanksgiving meals are surging upward – which is where Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering comes in.

Here at Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering, would recommend taking a cue from the CDC, and planning a safer Thanksgiving around fewer people. We make that particularly easy, too. You can simply go to https://order.ehungry.com/jacquies/order/home-style-cooked-meals/thanksgiving to take a look at our mouth-watering, sustainably resourced offerings – most harvested from Indiana farms.

Why would you spend upwards of 14-18 hours preparing and cooking a Thanksgiving dinner for 8, when you can pre-order gourmet favorites like

Just do interesting side dishes, or order a whole, free range, Indiana-raised 10-14 pound roasted turkey brined with herbs and lemon, or roasted angus beef tenderloin – cooked to perfection!

Order from Jacquie’s for your smaller gathering and save on prep time, cooking time and stress. Your food will be exquisitely seasoned and prepared. All you need to do is warm it up and serve it.

You can also pick and choose from our long list of side dishes… or desserts. Jacquie’s favorite desserts include

De-stress and enjoy your holiday, surrounded by friends, small family or extended family – and most of all -- stay safe.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering!

“Fall harvest season is absolutely my favorite time to be in the kitchen, cooking, baking and preparing,” says Jacquie Bols, proprietor of Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering.

“I love the rich colors of fall, from lush crisp red apples to the rich browns of cinnamon, cloves, and molasses, to all the lovely yellows and oranges of gourds, zucchini, squash, and pumpkins.”

“The cooler temperatures just inspire me to get into the kitchen and use fresh harvested veggies in as many exciting ways as I can. One of my favorite ways to use root vegetables is in soup. Here is one of my favorite recipes. It’s also one of the easiest to make.”

Jacquie’s Maple Roasted Butternut Squash Soup

Look for firm fully ripe butternut squash, as fresh as possible. You can stretch this recipe and make a huge pot-full, or use a couple of squash and make enough for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients:

Place stock in a pot and bring to boil, then simmer on low.

Meanwhile, dice onion, sautéing it separately with butter, in a pan on medium low. When onion is clear and fully cooked, add to stock pot.

Jacquie's Gourmet tip:  “Serve this warm – the smell of the soup cooking will pull people into your kitchen!.”

Look for this soup and many other homemade fall harvest sides, chilis, dips, hearty breakfasts, quiches, breads, custards, and of course, Jacquie’s Gourmet desserts – including another fall favorite, our super thick fresh Indiana Apple pie.

Find them all at Jacquie’s Café, where you can still eat outside on our front deck, enjoying the sunshine, or safely inside, social distanced.

Jacquie and her team are proud to serve our local communities, businesses, family friends and individual patrons.
