A perfectly delicious holiday appetizer party

That’s what the Bremners held at their home late last month with the help of event planner David Jackson and Company and Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering.

 The red and green themed holiday event for 100 began at 7 pm, making a festive and elegant statement as guests entered the foyer with exquisite twinkling lights showcasing Jackson’s abundant holiday greenery and gorgeous holiday florals which quite literally “decked the halls.”

Guests were treated to an open bar as seafood and chicken hors d’oeuvres were passed, including  

  • ·       Mini Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Mango Mojo
  • ·      Chicken Creole Crepe Purses tied with a chive
  • ·      Mini Tuna Poke on Cracker

As the evening progressed, guests headed to the dining room where aged Angus Beef Tenderloin was carved, plated and skewered. Steamed Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail with St. Elmo’s classic cocktail sauce was another popular appetizer choice.

Far and away the center of attention was the introduction of Jacquie’s Gourmet Caviar Cake featuring a trio of black, red and green caviar served with crisp Melba toasts. Guests commented that each of the caviars had a singular distinctive taste. The rich appetizer cake was as lovely to look at as it was to sample. A guest favorite to be sure! Guests could also choose from

  • ·      Cedar Plank Salmon with Saffron Aioli
  • ·      Duck Mousse Pate with Port Wine
  • ·      New Zealand Lamb Chops with Mint Sauce
  • ·      Fennel and Apple Salad served in a Martini Glass
  • ·      Red and Green Endive salad with Roquefort and Candied Pecans
  • ·      Mini Beet Salads with Truffle Goat Cheese

After such a wide assortments of appetizers nd salads, mini desserts were the perfect way to complete the evening. An assortment of Mini Cake Pops, Key Lime tarts, and Mini Turtle tartlets vanished quickly.

The event was lovely, from start to finish – a fantastic way to bid happy holidays to friends, coworkers and family.
