Make sure your reception makes a fantastic impression!

Although you’ve likely attended several wedding receptions, chances are good you haven’t had a lot of practice hosting one.

Good news: We have! Our event planners help plan at least 275 wedding receptions every year. So, we’re happy to help you assure that your reception is as festive, fun, beautiful and delicious as you envision.

Here are some tips from the expert reception and event planners at Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering:

• Make it fun and romantic right from the start! The entrance should set the mood with tea lights along the pathway, a decorated arch of balloons at the entrance, statement flowers, and color-themed décor.
• Choose your colors. Shades of green and gold are popular, as sky blues, greens and teal. Coordinate your colors throughout your venue – right down to the invitations, lighting and floral arrangements.
• Great table decor. Check out Pinterest for great ideas you pull together yourself – or ask us for help. We have lots of photos we can show you to get you started.
• Lighting -- Use candles and spotlights for added drama.
• When it comes to food, think of your invited guests, and have all your favorites. Appetizers, and coffee and dessert tables can be lots of fun. Be sure that serving tables are heaped with food. Add smaller cocktail tables for hors d’ouevres. And – absolutely do not run out of food! We’ll help make sure of that.
• Offer specialty bride & groom drinks to your party. It’s a great way to to break the ice – and cut down on your bar tab. Ask us for popular drink brands and how much to have on hand.
• Music sets the tempo. Live is always better! Bluesy, laid back, or poppin’, make sure it can be heard from the entrance to the bar, tables, and everywhere in between.
