How can you take your next party to the next level?
Parties are soooo much more than choosing linen colors, a menu and some floral arrangements. Let’s get creative together!
A fun, really interesting party theme is a great way to begin – and, wouldn’t you know it? -- we have some terrific ideas to help jump start the creative process!
A few event ideas we’ve watched take off recently:
Begin with… different lighting! How about lanterns – large and small – everywhere? Or strands of hanging light bulbs affixed to the ceiling, dripping down. Or candleabras, yes, even outside. (We know how to do it.)
Who says playing dress up is just for kids? Pick a favorite movie, decade, or genre… and have a blast with your guests. We can help adapt a menu and drinks to reinforce the theme.
English Garden – set the mood with lots of greenery and potted plants. Large are a great way to set the tone. Even the pots themselves can be wrapped in lush fabrics to create a natural garden feel. Works inside or out.
Vintage drama! Go for black and white – from what you wear to linens and lighting. Add vintage posters or photos – and let your menu reinforce the theme. This works exceedingly well if you are doing a mystery theme. (Like this idea? We know some folks who can provide lots of scripts and plots to keep your guests, guessing!)
Let’s go classic and textural. Laser-cut overlays on tables and even over lighting -- adds depth, drama and texture when layered over solid colored tablecloths. Add vintage candelabras with colored candles at each table – voila!
Add some splash with a pool party. Pick a cool decade and have some “harkening back” fun. How about “Summer of ‘62?” Or “That was the year of ’85?” Add appropriate extras like Hula hoops, vintage cars, movie posters, and the right DJ spinning the perfect greatest hits. Some others we’ve thoroughly enjoyed? Come dress for our Titanic party! That could mean anything from a shark to a captain. We saw one guest dressed as a menacing iceberg. Another as a lifeboat. What a great party!
