The good news is, an eco-conscious wedding reception can be bold, colorful, lovely, delicious… and chic! Jacquie’s event planning team has dozens of incredibly helpful options toward achieving that goal.
Here’s how to get started:
- Digital “Save the Date” and wedding invites make great sense. But if you love the idea of paper invites, consider plantable invites with seeds embedded. Guests love this! And – it sets the pace of your event.
- We frequently use venues that make environmentally careful choices. We can steer you towards places that will happily help keep your environmental goals a reality.
- We offer all kinds of amazing foods that are locally and sustainably sourced; organic and pesticide-free. No skimping on taste or presentation – ever!
- What can you rent rather than purchase? Options include everything from tables to linens, dishware to vases, floral centerpieces to candelabras.
- Want real flowers and greenery? Ask florists how they source them. Go local sources as much as possible. Or go natural, harvesting flowers and stems from local gardens or recycling flowers from receptions from other events. Ask us how!
- Say yes to compostable dinner plates and utensils over plastic -- or use elegant (washable) dishware.
- Avoid gifting gifts in cellophane wrappers. Choose food or plant gifts instead such as miniature take-home desserts or small potted plants.
- Consider donating leftover catered food to a food bank or another local organization in need.
