At Jacquie’s Catering, we know events inside and out – top to bottom – and well beyond the amazing foods we prepare and serve. With more than 20 years in the biz, we have lots of ideas on making the most of your venue setting.
Here are 6 easy ways to maximize yours:
Traffic flow is often overlooked when planning – but hugely important to the success of your event. Invite our catering manager to weigh in on table and bar placement, food stations, and doors from which food will be brought in and served.
Your venue will likely be new to your guests. Use plenty of signage to direct them to bathrooms, parking, bar areas, fire pits, and all exits.
Pay attention to lighting. Use it to light things up and spotlight areas of interest, such as food stations, grand entrance area, bars, and of course, your stage. You can also dress up a barn interior by draping white string lights over rafters.
Add interest to party halls by placing varied-height (draped) tables or wooden boxes in corners and around featured areas to create special places for wedding gifts, desserts, parting gifts, or photo options. Cozy up dark corners and empty spots with multiple plants.
If your venue has high ceilings, fill table space is using items that will give you plenty of height, such as tall candles and explosive sprays of flowers and greenery. If your space is on the small side or dark (barn wood or stained interiors), use light colored tablecloths and multiple smaller tables rather than long ones.
Know where the outlets are. It’s easier than you think to forget to look for outlet placement as you plan. After you add extension cords, tape down all exposed cords so guests won’t trip over them (think of your senior guests) or get tangled in them.
Ask us for suggestions on venues that suit your needs, large and small, in Indy and nearby. We have agreements with lots of them – and know what types of events and numbers of guests work best with each.
We have no shortage of experience-based ideas! Let’s get a conversation started.
