Historic, romantic, and… shall we say… interestingly named? Mustard Seed Gardens has a notable backstory dating back to the 1800s.
According to Indiana records, President Andrew Jackson deeded the grounds to George Metsker in exchange for his military service during the War of 1812. Thereafter, the property served as a farmstead home (and yes, lush mustard plants were grown on the property) to generations of the Metsker family.
In 2008, the aging property was put up for sale. Mark and Teresa Skipper toured the majestic grounds and original buildings and promptly bought it. They could sense its potential as an event space, offering charm, 100-year-old trees, original barn, and story tale roots.
After a careful restoration process involving upgrading the grounds, the original Metsker farmhouse, and 200 year old barn, the Skippers opened Mustard Seed Gardens as a full-service event venue for up to 300 guests.
