Firefly Children & Family Alliance fundraiser soars!

Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering was honored to help support the Firefly Children & Family Alliance fundraiser this past month for 230 guests. This uplifting plated evening fundraiser was held, appropriately enough, at the Tom Wood Aviator Hangar on Willow View Road, Fishers. Of course the event was themed around taking flight.

What The Firefly Children & Family Alliance does: Devoted to supporting Indiana families and adults, helping give kids and adults the chance to succeed at overcoming hardship and unhealthy behaviors to create stronger communities.

We thoroughly enjoy doing nonprofit event fundraisers, and this one was great fun to hold in an actual airplane hangar.

The event took off with hors d’ouevres and open bar from 6-7pm, followed by dinner, bidding and auction, and guest announcements.

Here’s what we served:

HORS D'OEUVRES

• Edible Cones with Smoked Salmon Mousse, Cucumber and Dill
• Charcuterie and Cheese served in a Mini Cube Soft Pretzel with Caviar and Creme Fraiche 

DINNER – FIRST COURSE:

• Late Summer Salad of local apples, cabbage, roasted sweet potato, peanuts, aged cheddar and herb vinaigrette
• Persian Shrimp Rice Crackers with Saffron & Chilies – per

SECOND COURSE

• Lamb Salisbury Steak with wild mushroom gravy, creamed rutabaga and champagne glazed baby carrots

DESSERT:

• Dark chocolate pots de Creme w burnt honey cream, figs and hazelnuts (dairy-free available upon request)
• Coffee Station

SPECIALTY DRINK especially created for the event:

The Firefly - Vodka, ginger syrup, honey syrup, fresh lime juice, over ice

or -- Provence Punch (rum, lime juice, lavender syrup)

The evening was a rip-roaring success for The Firefly Alliance, from take-off to landing! Jacquie’s team was pleased to play a part in the evening. Thanks to all who supported this wonderful cause!
