Indeed! …Or so we heard after a recent golden anniversary celebration.
Held at a popular far North-side park, the multi-generational celebration of love, family and friendship was packed with 75 family and friends from as far away as Arizona and Maine.
The menu was simple by design: appetizers, finger foods and lots of fun desserts. So whether you were 8 years old or 80, there was food there you would enjoy – freshly prepared, locally-grown, and pasture-raised BBQ chicken skewers (all from Indiana).
The menu kept people heading back to try the various stations – such a great way to get conversations and reunions blossoming!
Jacquie proved her dessert proficiency very sweetly with a stunning array of pies and cakes, plus an elaborate fruit and cheese table, and even a self-serve ice cream station with all the sauces, toppings and trimmings.
Attending anniversary guests chose from a multitude of pies including Kentucky bourbon, lemon meringue, and classic Dutch apple. Cakes included German chocolate, and Southern style bread pudding with maple cream glaze. There were also plenty of mini desserts on towered stations, brownies, and of course, the ice cream station.
Naturally, no one wanted just one desert – especially the kids.
Several guests told our staff the desserts were “decadent” and “absolutely yummy.” But our favorite compliment was from the power couple themselves, who called our dessert stations a “dessert-lovers paradise.”
What a great compliment! And – an absolutely sweet and romantic way to celebrate a golden 50th anniversary with your sweetheart, sweet family and favorite friends!! Congrats, all!
