This fun Norwegian-inspired Christmas party at a client’s home included a very official reindeer “greeter” for the 40 guests in attendance.
What a great way to get guests in the mood for getting into the holiday spirit! Makes sense if your family roots are Norwegian and you happen to know someone who can make a reindeer visit happen.
This reindeer was gentle and sweet, and fortunately, off-duty from Santa’s workshop fleet last week.
The 5 to 8 PM party inside the home was held around a beautifully decorated smorgasboard filled to the rim with:
All three choices were served with: Sliced Cheese Chipotle Slaw, Pickles, Onions, Mayonnaise, Spicy Aioli, on mini house-made buns.
Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering team also served up:
There was also a Roasted Vegetable Platter with Arugula and Lemon Dip; Mini Caprese Salads with Fresh Basil, Olive Oil and Black Sea Salt; and Mac and Cheese with toppings (extra cheese, sour cream, scallions, and bacon)
Holiday desserts included:
Gingerbread men, Mini Cherry Cheesecakes, Lemon Lush Shooters, and Christmas cookies for the kids to decorate.
Since you simply cannot decorate cookies without hot chocolate, we added a Hot Chocolate and Coffee Station.
Even the reindeer was happy with the party, as s/he received a bit of oats and reindeer feed and extra (behind the antler) ear scratches as cheery (and full-stomached) guests departed.
A traditional Norwegian God Jul! cheer to all, from Jacquie Bols and the Gourmet Catering team!
