A deliciously artsy tribute to a great career

Nora McKinney Hiatt celebrated her husband Tom’s retirement from the board of directors at the Indianapolis Museum of Art with a party in his honor on the beautiful landscaped grounds of the museum a few weeks ago. Spring flowers were in bloom and the setting was gorgeous.

As luck would have it, however, Mother Nature got in the way at the last minute.

Just as the final touches to the set up and food prep for the event were in place, an unexpected rainstorm came up. It was all hands on deck as Jacquie’s catering staff and IMA staff scrambled to move tables, linens, plates, food, décor and beverages into the next best available event room in time for the first guest to arrive.

Luckily, Jacquie’s Catering team is nimble on their feet and used to working together, so they were able to change venues in record time and without missing a beat. The food was still served hot and the presentation was impeccable.

Nora and Tom are big fans of Jacquie’s Catering, having used Jacquie’s at multiple events throughout both of their careers. In her thank you to Jacquie, Nora’s remarks were sweet and much appreciated:

“Thank you, again… for your creativity, patience, flair, attention to details, and sense of humor.

The party was a wonderful success. The details were meticulous, the food was fabulous, and the guests had a great time. The fact that the original venue had to be moved about a quarter mile (in the rain) seemed almost irrelevant by the time that first guest walked into the Fountain Room.

Bravo once again to your whole team! Please give Angelo an extra hug for me. Tell him he’s still Master of His Domain at OUR house!!

 Fondly,

Nora”
